I sat on the cold, lonely floor beside the door. I changed the song on my iPod to Give me love by Ed Sheeran.
I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. It was Justin. I answered.
"Hey, lovely. What are you up to?" he asked.
I smiled. "Just waiting."
"Waiting?"
"My parents are gone and I finished packing up a while ago so I'm just waiting until you come."
"Why didn't you just call me earlier? I'm on my way," he said.
I smiled again. "Thank you Justin."
"You know I'd do anything for you lovely. I'll be there in 10 minutes."
"Thank you."
"Okay. I'll see you there Kam," he said before hanging up.
Almost exactly 10 minutes later Justin's car pulled up in front of my house.
I stood up and immediately Justin came though the door. He pulled me into a hug right away. I smiled. "Thank you Bieber."
He looked around at my house and pulled away from the hug. "Wow! Your house is empty," he said.
"Really?" I asked sarcastically. He chuckled. "I just mean it's weird to see it like this. Damn. It reminds me that you're actually leaving."
Tears started to run down my cheeks when I was reminded that I was leaving. Justin turned to look at me. "Oh Kameron," he said, pulling me into a hug again. He held me tight and I felt safe. Justin was my best friend and he was the only one who had ever seen me cry. I loved him like a brother and I couldn't bear the thought of leaving him.
I felt a vibration in my back pocket coming from my phone. Justin pulled my phone out of my pocket and answered it for me so I could wipe away my tears.
"Hello," he said. He replied and talked to whoever it was, explaining why he had my phone and what time we would all go there.
"Do you want to go now? We can stop somewhere else and get something to eat since we're early," he said.
"Yeah. Sure," I said. "Sounds good." Justin smiled and I smiled too.
He grabbed my suitcase and put it in the trunk of his car. I got in and Justin started driving. He stopped at Burger King and bought us both cheeseburgers.
We sat down at a table next to the window. "Kameron?" said Justin. "Yes, Bieber?" I asked. He sighed. "I-I-I think this summer is going to be awesome," he said. I could tell that wasn't what he wanted to say but he changed his mind. I smiled. "The best summer ever."
He looked down at his cheeseburger and took a bite out of it. He looked at his watch. "We should probably get going lovely," he said.
"What time is it?" I asked. "It's 5:45," he replied. "Okay," I said. We got up and started to leave Burger King.
Before we left Justin went and bought an ice cream for us to share. I stood next to him. As Justin was paying I noticed the woman staring. "You two are such a cute couple," she said. Justin and I looked at each other. "Oh no. We're not- we're not dating," I said without taking my eyes off of Justin. "Yeah. We're just best friends," said Justin.
The woman smiled. "Oh. Well you would make a cute couple," she said. Justin smiled and blushed. "Thank you," he said grabbing the ice cream and walking out.
